Event Details:

Join us at the Farmers Market from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Civic Centre (19000 Leslie St.) for National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day. The day will include:

• A smudging ceremony and live performance by Indigenous knowledge keeper Jared BigCanoe
• Children's book readings by the East Gwillimbury Public Library
• Beaded necklace workshop and learnings about the residential school system
• Orange ribbon station, where ribbons are tied to remember the children who died at residentials schools
